Menswear, Fall 2015.
04:25
It’s that time in the fashion calendar when menswear and couture shows have come to an end, and everyone is preparing for the women’s wear shows to hit us in just nine days time.
Before the hustle and bustle of NWFW is amongst us, I’d like to take a moment to appreciate some of my favourite looks from the Fall 2015 Menswear Shows.
This silver Kenzo jacket is to die for. Their fall collection was based around UFO’s, space, and being respected for believing in what you want to believe in. This silver jacket, along with another silver cape and a standout UFO sweater definitely reinforced this idea of astronauts and spaceships. Definitely worth a look.
I’m a huge fan of Calvin Klein, and the menswear for Fall definitely didn’t disappoint. It was too difficult to pick one look because lets be serious, who doesn’t love minimalism, oversized garments and the colours black & grey? Outstanding.
Oh Alexander Wang. I love this collection due to the wearability of it all! A recent quote from my boyfriend – “what’s the point in a show full of clothing that isn’t wearable” – now, he isn’t a big lover on the fashion show scene, but he does have a point? Extravagant shows are all well and good, but there’s nothing better than a collection where you would literally buy it all.
Now- I couldn’t leave without mentioning that ballsy movement by Rick Owens, that I’m sure we’ve seen or heard about! If you haven’t seen his collection, I would recommend having a look, as those peep holes showing the male genitals, oh and his clothing, are not to be missed. Making a statement that will get the audience talking is a perfectly planned piece of marketing, which should definitely work in his favour. After all, whether they’re talking bad or talking good, publicity is publicity.
Love, Ab. X
